ROOM: Oogie Boogie’s Dungeon
Öona Dahl is a visionary producer and DJ whose deep-rooted passion for music has shaped a unique and evolving sonic identity. Her journey began with a childhood fascination for sound, experimenting with cassette tapes before delving into music production using Acid Pro and Fruity Loops. Immersed in Toronto’s vibrant rave scene, she quickly transitioned to DJing in clubs by the age of 17, setting the foundation for a career defined by her singular artistic vision.
After studying sound design in college, Öona became a key presence in Florida’s underground dance music scene, forging connections with industry pioneers such as DJ Monk (Rabbit In The Moon) and DJ Three (Second-Hand Satellites) of the influential ’90s label Hallucination Recordings. Her ability to transcend musical boundaries has brought her to some of the world’s most revered stages, including Future Forest Festival, Mayan Warrior, and Boom Festival, as well as large-scale events like Tomorrowland, EDC, and Ultra. Regular appearances at underground clubs such as Watergate and Kater Blau in Berlin, Elsewhere and Signal in NYC, and Club Space and Factory Town in Miami allow her to continuously challenge expectations and evolve her sound.
As a producer, Öona has built an impressive discography with releases on esteemed labels like Watergate and Hallucienda. Her critically acclaimed artist albums Holograma and Morph showcase a broad spectrum of sound—from left-field house to ambient pop—earning praise from respected music critics including Joe Muggs (The Wire), Terry Matthew (5 Magazine), and Bruce Tantum (DJ Magazine). Her recent work marks a shift towards a more raw, underground club sound, such as the High Priestesses EP on Watergate and Soul On Fire, a collaboration with West Coast house legend Doc Martin, released on Selador Records. Notable remixes include “Concealing” by Kadosh (Nervous Records), “Burn Like Fire” by xxIsisxx, “Raincry” by God Within, and “Wrong Note” by Moon Boots featuring Ora The Molecule.
Always evolving, Öona’s upcoming projects explore new psychedelic territories and textures, beginning with her next EP: an analog-fueled indie dance experience titled Key Of Sun. She has also completed work on her third artist album for Hallucienda, this time focusing exclusively on her “psybient” sound—ambient and vocal electronica—which will debut with a live show that she previewed at Denver’s Psychedelic Science Convention (Portal Dome) and Meow Wolf. Further expanding her live component, a new AV show centered on her house and techno productions is also in the works. With a fresh wave of club music in the vein of High Priestesses ready for release, Öona heads into 2026 riding a surge of inspired creativity.
