Delano was influenced at a very early age by the many freestyle/break-dance parties taking place all over the Panama Canal Zone (R.I.P.) in the mid-80’s. While attending these parties he was captivated by the DJ’s and how they controlled the crowd with their selection.

In 95′ after being exposed to House and Breaks, Delano became one of the founding members of the electronic music scene in the Republic of Panama. He was asked by a friend to DJ and help promote Panama City’s first ever “all electronic music night” at the legendary “Club Dreams”. He agreed and attendance grew from 300 to 1,500 in a matter of 2 months.

After a drastic move from Panama to Tampa, FL in ‘97, Delano started networking and landed himself a residence playing breaks at the renowned “Masquerade”. On a return trip to Panama to play a gig, he was given a copy of LTJ Bukem’s “Logical Progression” and a mix tape that included Shy FX’s “Bambatta”. Little did he know that the intense bass lines would for ever change the music he would play.

In 99 after a return trip from Panama, he started a drum and bass weekly in St. Petersburg where he met Ryan Powell a.k.a. “Gridlok”. In 2000 the 2 became partners and the night was an instant success. In 2002 Gridlok left Tampa for the city of San Francisco and Delano decided to change the weekly into a bi-monthly that would show case national and international talent. He named it “Heat” and brought some of the biggest names in DnB. This was his calling card, and from it he took his DJ career to a national and international level.

In 2004, Delano once again found himself networking in a new city, this time in San Diego. Within 2 years he not only was broadcasting “Heat Radio Live” on www.bassdrive.com, he had landed himself a residency w/ San Diego’s premiere /longest running Drum N Bass weekly DEEP.

In 2010, after a two year hiatus, Delano motivated his Deep partners to restart the night as a monthly.

2011 was the year that Delano stepped into the production game with legendary Los Angeles Dj/Producer R.A.W. aka BBoy 3000. Together they have collaborated on both original and remixed tunes specifically intended for smashing up DnB/Jungle dance floors.

Over the past 12 years, Delano’s passion, technical skills and musical selection has landed him sub-headlining gigs with the likes of Andy C, Friction, Pendulum, Ltj Bukem, Calibre, Dj SS, Nookie, A-Sides, Goldie, Chase & Status, & Roni Size Reprazent Live to name a few.
