Growing up in the early Florida Electronic Dance Music scene, Gary Baker was a witness to ground breaking performances and has experienced many epic moments, which helped form his style as an artist. Always seemingly to be involved on some level he was lucky to get to take part in the many of the premier events of the time. These experiences in addition to being a part-time roadie for Rabbit in the Moon in the late 90’s, he traveled the US as they headlined many of the classic festivals with the top acts of the day. Honing his DJ skills at the house and after parties associated with those events, in the new millennium Baker started to venture out and bring his music to the masses. He got his start opening on the road for DJ Monk and other grassroots gigs and then shortly thereafter was added to the Hallucination DJ roster. Then in 2010 BAKER dedicated himself bringing Drum & BASS back to Tampa. This all started by exposing his style of DnB to the new blood in the scene with his performances. Then in 2011 BAKER’s dream for DnB in Tampa became reality with the opening the DRUMnBASSment: Tampa’s longest running DnB weekly. Andy C, LTJ Bukem, Aprhodite, Roni Size, AK1200, Dieselboy, A-sides, Klute, Craze & Seba. He has also opened for Bass music heavy hitters like Excision, Borgore, Rusko & Feed Me. Baker has also played along side huge artists that have influenced the underground dance music scene such as Rabbit in the Moon, Monk, the Bassbin Twins & Josh Wink. In 2014, Baker moved out west to Las Vegas and during the Pandemic reinvented himself as an artist and to advance his style as well as to start producing original drum and bass music. This is when he also rebranded himself to take the name of his old production company in Florida BAKERACTED! With his mixing style now tuned in to rock peak dance floor experiences while also distinguishing himself from the crowd, when you come to a Baker set expect an all out performance with a DJ passionate to his audience who is always changing to give you the freshest experience possible. In the coming year be on the lookout for the release of an all original dnb EP as well as a collaboration to make a custom candle the burns for exactly 72hrs that will be the first product of his new merchandise line.
